Course Overview
In this Knowledge Bloc, you will explore the role of Large Language Models (LLMs) in education. Through five focused Information Bytes, you will develop AI literacy skills and create a classroom AI policy aligned with your values and instructional objectives.
A personalized, classroom-ready AI Use Policy that outlines acceptable and unacceptable uses of AI aligned with learning goals.

Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Byte 1: Understand what LLMs are and begin framing AI use through the lens of instructional values and objectives.
- Byte 2: Recognize AI literacy skills and differentiate them from general information/media literacy.
- Byte 3: Analyze when it is appropriate—or inappropriate—for students to use AI to complete a task.
- Byte 4: Create clear boundaries around AI use within a learning activity, promoting responsible student engagement.
- Byte 5: Synthesize your learning into a practical, flexible classroom policy for AI use. with emerging trends in generative AI and creativity

Knowledge Blocs (KB) are designed for adult learners to obtain professional development, with learning objectives based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, and actionable outcomes supported by Bloom’s Taxonomy. Knowledge Blocs in general, and where possible, follow the Torrance Incubation Model of Teaching and Learning.
An account is required to access Knowledge Blocs. Once a Knowledge Bloc has been purchased, access is granted immediately.
Knowledge Blocs contain 5 Bytes, each with a video, contributing information, activity, quiz, and additional community features. Some Knowledge Blocs may include a supplemental Workbook, available through Google Suite at no charge for the end user. A Google Account is required to access this feature.
There is no time limit for Knowledge Blocs. Video Bytes may require viewing where indicated. Quiz Bytes may require a minimum score of 80% – 90% where indicated. All quizzes must receive a passing grade to obtain credit for the entire Bloc.
All Blocs within the 5 Bytes must be completed to be eligible for a Knowledge Bloc to be marked as completed.
